Once upon an opportunity I missed,
And they told me ignorance was bliss. How could I have not seen the potential, I guess it was easier for me to let go.
It was hard to hold on, didn't have the strength though, I called your name but just got back my echo. If I could go back in time, I'd turn back the dial and everything would be fine!
Saw you leave, I never said goodbye. Too caught up, too busy gettin high.
I thought I was cool, thought I was sly, little did I know I was risking the prize.
It started out Monday morning, I went to school. Found out you were going to Europe, felt like a fool. I didn't care, too wrapped up in being a bear, I guess, too much to confess.
You were always in the front row, always bought tickets when the crowd was low. At times you were our only fan, even supported all our half-assed jams.
Came time for your trip, I didn't even blink. Thought I was invincible my ship could never sink. You came up to me, said your goodbyes. I owed you more but didn't even look you in the eye.
Flagged down a cab, and made a beeline. Unfortunately you arrived right on time. Boarded the plane just like you had planned, headed for the beaches your head was in the sand.
Captain on the speaker, put on your seatbelt, ask for a flight attendant if you need help. Safety video came on, so did your headphones. Only sound in your mind was the bear tones.
G forces pushed you back in your seat, the flight attendant offered you your last treat. Landing gear goes up, but your stomach drops. Everything is fine, let the playlist rock.
You smell the salt, the beaches are near. But something's off, 6th sense senses fear. The nose dives, you close your eyes. I can only imagine your life passin you by.
The doctor said you didn't feel a thing. But in the night I can still hear you screaming. Fire everywhere, I think I'm scared, but I hope you found a better place up there
